He said, “Be fruitful”.

Two commanding officers of different regiments were called forth by the general for a strategic meeting. In the meeting, they were to discuss and implement a directive they have received from their commander in chief. In their discussions, the commanding officers were hesitant in taking the order considering the risks. The general, taking a good look at them and their hesitating arguments said to them, “We have an order guys, He said, “Go for the rescue mission”, and we have to do it.”

When God said be fruitful, He meant it. It was not a tale neither was it a bedtime story. He meant it when he asked us to be fruitful. It mean that we were supposed to let what was deposited in us be made manifested. He knew we could pull it off, so he gave the command “be fruitful”. He has trusted us enough to keep such great deposits in us for the purpose he had for us.

Do we have the chance to object? Do you have the will to run away from our duty and the command? Do you really have a choice to do what He has called you to do? I am thinking of this in the light of God and what He has created us to do. Every product is supposed to operate in the light of what it has been been manufactured to do. That is why most manufacturers add manuals on the purpose, conditions for optimising the product and under what circumstances the product will cease not to function properly. You are existent based on God’s assignment for you.

Whenever you try to run away from the command of God, there are varied ways you are re-aligned to the purposes of God. For example, Jonah had his plans frustrated when he wanted to run away from the command of God. We should understand this:

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Ephesians 2:10 (NIV)

Whatever he has command, we are to do so. And He said, “be fruitful”, so you do have the option to opt out. He has given you all that you need for the good works that He has prepared in advance for you. You have to live it out.

Thank you Father for your wod that I have heard today. I am really grateful that you have created me anew in CHRISt for every good works that you predestined for me. I thank you for counting me worthy to be a vessel for your use. I pray that you will grant me the grace to be steadfast in your assignment and be faithful in fulfilling my purpose. This and many other blessings we ask in the name of Christ the Lord. AMEN!!
