The Pillar of Governance

Let’s take the pillars of the kingdom (as listed here) one after the other. We begin with the pillar of governance and politics. God’s interest in the politics and governance of any nation can never be underestimated. All through scripture, the imprint of politics and its effect on the people in the nation has been made clear. An entire nation may be branded as evil because the King that led them did evil in the sight of God, and did good if the king did right in the sight of God. Nations have been sent into captivity and its cities laid in ruins because of their kings, although there were righteous people in the nation. This reveals the extent of God’s emphasis on the “kind and character” of the people in governance.

The corridors of politics is where decisions are taken to affect the lives of others. It is the platform where ordinary citizens of the nation’s destiny are impacted by a line of decree. In essence, influencing the decisions through men with the truth, God is able to enforce His will on the Earth. When a whole nation were about to be wiped out because an influential man Haman has forced the King to, it took Esther in the helm of affairs to revert that decision by the grace of God. Notwithstanding Esther’s initial hesitation to take that responsibility to use her influence to revert the decree of the king, her uncle sent her this message:

For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”

Esther Chapter 4 verse 14 (NIV)

Many Christians have shunned entering into governance for so many reasons. For the selected few who have made it unto the corridors of leadership, have become corrupted by the existing systems of operation. Nevertheless, God is still seeking and raising a group of men and women who are built up with the truth to occupy the seat of governance. Just as Daniel, Shedrach, Meshach and Abednego were enrolled in the governance of the land of Babylon to reveal the glory of God and enforce His will, so is God raising men and women, devoted to see His glory revealed in every dark and corrupt arena, to possess the kingdom of governance.

Do you sit idle and allow the ungodly men and women to dictate what happens to us? Do we allow the righteous to perish and the purposes of God to wait unattended to because of … Wait! Do we have an excuse to give to God why we can’t humble ourselves for Him to use? Is there any reason the price for your salvation to go wasted, because you are enjoying your space and your position as a “queen”? Just as Mordecai sent Esther a message, so I end today’s blog with this message: God has placed you/is raising you through the process He is taking you through to influence the decisions of nations. Don’t forget that you are being placed there to serve His purpose and make that Kingdom the kingdom of our Lord. There is a grace released unto as many of us who desire to possess the nations for the sake of the glory of God, and you are one of them.

Thank you Father for the grace of God available unto us. Thank you God for your power at work within us. May your name forever be praised. We subject ourselves to your bidding and we pray that your Grace will be keep us under your teachings and help us to steadfastly abide under your shadows as you prepare us for your tasks ahead of us. This and many other blessings we ask through Christ our Lord. Amen!!!
