Prerequisites for abundance (Part 7)

The social media culture has made us quick tweeters, facebookers, etc. We are very quick to write whatever thing we have been told to do on the social media for our friends to read, comment, like or dislike. Every minute of our 24 hours is written on the tabloids for the world to read and comment on. Don’t get me wrong! I am on facebook, instagram, twitter, whatsApp and I do post and read updates on these handles. But sometimes we need to be quiet for a while on some of the things that are happening around and to us.

This leads us to the seventh prerequisite for abundance. But before we move on, have you had the chance to read the first six parts. If not, these are the links to the six parts: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6.

7. Shut the door with those in your close circles (V 4a)

Then go inside and shut the door behind you and your sons.

2 Kings 4:4a (NIV)

The widow was instructed by the prophet Elisha to go into her room and shut the door behind her and her sons. Note that it was not everyone she borrowed the vessels from that should have been part of this outpouring of oil experience. They were neighbors that she needed to get the capacity for her abundance, but not necessarily partakers of the abundance spree.

I also love this passage of the Bible from 2 Kings 4:18 -37, and I think you should read it too. When the shunamite woman’s son died, she told everybody it was well until she met the prophet. She even told the apprentice to the prophet that it was well. So many of us would have announced what we are experiencing to the entire world even before God would hear us talk to Him.

A lot of us have missed our miracles because of the people we invited into our closed circles and shared intimate stuff with. They discouraged us, made us feel unworthy and disregarded the instruction that God had given unto us. Paying heed to the voices from them, we have lost focus and faith to receive the abundance God had prepared for us.

Beloved, be quiet for a while. Learn to keep your breakthrough away from the social media and share the testimony in the due time to the glory of God. Don’t be in a rush to spill out your beans. It’s your set time for your miracle, so shut your doors and wait upon the Lord.

I thank you Father for Your word I have heard today. I am grateful for the encouragement You bless my day with. I pray that you will grant me the grace to remain silent when I have to. Help me make wise decisions and wait upon you in all circumstances. This and many other blessings I ask in the name of Christ my Lord. AMEN!

If you have not yet received Christ as your Lord and savior, I want to offer you the opportunity to do so. When you shut your doors, you need someone to have fellowship as you await the miracle. Christ is our present help in times of need and a friend who sticks more than a brother. Actually, He is already standing at the door and knocking. Open him so that He can come and dine with you. Do you want to have a fellowship with Him? Say these words after me:

I thank you Father for sending your Son to die for me. I appreciate the free gift salvation that you offer me. I receive Christ Jesus as my Lord and personal savior. Please come and live through and in me as we fellowship together. In Jesus name I have prayed. AMEN!

If you said these words after me, welcome to the family of believers. Do find a Bible believing and Holy Spirit filled church to attend. God bless you and remain a blessing for doing so.
