God of Miracles (Part 1)

We all need a break for all the struggles we face. There are moments in our life where we feel desperate and are hoping that a miracle comes our way. Not knowing what to do and anticipating the worst, we are most often than not left to the mercies of exhaustion and depression. We have known God for so many things: as being faithful, loving, protecting, amongst many other things. There is one other aspect of God I would like to present to us today: GOD IS A GOD OF MIRACLES.

  1. Feeding 5000 men with 5 loaves of bread and 2 fishes (John 6:1-14)

When they had all had enough to eat, he said to his disciples, “Gather the pieces that are left over. Let nothing be wasted.” So they gathered them and filled twelve baskets with the pieces of the five barley loaves left over by those who had eaten.

John 6:12-13 (NIV)

People troop out to come and listen to Jesus teach, and possibly benefit from his healing campaign. After spending long hours with Jesus, it was night time and Jesus started preparing for ow to take care of the people. At his disposal was five loaves of bread and two fishes. Giving thanks to God, Jesus broke the bread and gave it to the disciples to distribute it to the people. The five loaves and two fishes were more than enough to feed the five thousand men (excluding women and children).

Some few questions that came in mind as I was thinking about this miracle:

  • Who was baking the bread? And when did they start kneading the dough?
  • Who was baking the bread and which oven was able to bake all these bread the people ate?
  • Who transported the bread to the people, since they were far from the city to buy bread?
  • And the question continues…

We can ask so many questions, but one striking thing is that God is a God of miracle. Your questions about the impossibility of the miracle you expect does not in any way limit the power of God to do that. God is willing and able to exceedingly and abundantly above what you are thinking or imagining. All you need to do is to trust God. It is not your place to know how God will pull through, your place is to trust God to do it for you.

God is still in the business of stepping in the affairs of men and pulling strings to give His children a break. All we need to do is to trust God and wait! God bless you and remain a blessing as you believe God to do what He alone can do.

I thank You Father for your word I have received today. Thank You for assuring me that You are the God of miracles. I pray that You will grant me the grace to wait on you to fulfil every good thing You have started in my life. This and many other blessings I ask in the name of Christ my Lord. AMEN!

If you want to have an experience with this God of Miracles, you need to have a relationship with Him. To have a relationship with Him, you need to go through Christ Jesus. For He alone is the way, the truth and the life, and no one goes to the Father except through Him. If you want to go through Christ to the Father, say these words after me:

I thank you Father for reaching out to me. A wretched sinner as I am, You have sent your Son to die for my sins and give me the opportunity to be part of your family. I receive Jesus as my Lord and personal savior. I want to have fellowship with You as You reveal yourself more unto me. AMEN!

If you have said these words, welcome to the family of believers. Find a Bible believing and Holy Spirit filled church to be a member of. God bless you for taking this bold step of faith.
