Text: Joshua 10

Now the five kings had fled and hidden in the cave at Makkedah. 17 When Joshua was told that the five kings had been found hiding in the cave at Makkedah,18 he said, “Roll large rocks up to the mouth of the cave and post some men there to guard it. 19 But don’t stop; pursue your enemies! Attack them from the rear and don’t let them reach their cities, for the Lord your God has given them into your hand.”

MESSAGE

Sometimes it is the troubles we are avoiding that God uses to set us up for victory. Knowing what is important at every particular time in battle is critical in conquering your enemies. Keeping the main thing the main thing is the mentality of the conqueror.

We may have so many things going through our minds. With so many options available unto us, we may be drawn away from the main thing: finding the solution to the problem. Joshua had the option of killing the Kings and winning the battle or pursuing the enemies before they reach their fortified cities. He chooses to pursue them because he was supposed to wipe the people in the land; the kings were only four of them.

When faced with varied options, keep pursuing the main thing. Cover the cave where the kings are and come and deal with them later. Don’t be distracted from the getting to the finish line. Always keep the main thing the main thing.

Text: Joshua 7:12

That is why the Israelites are running from their enemies in defeat. For now, Israel itself has been set apart for destruction. I will not remain with you any longer unless you destroy the things among you that were set apart for destruction.

MESSAGE

Moreover, there are people around us that need to be dealt with. There are some people we need to let go if we want to achieve anything meaningful. However, this needs a lot of discernment and wisdom.

It may be so easy for us to pick the people who seem to like us. However, there are those whose mistakes and comments rather challenge us to be better. God may strategically take some people our way and bring other people to help us move on. So the conqueror should always realise that the people around Him would not always be around. In battle, any of your men can fall.

Learn to work with any new person you meet. They need not be the same in competence and attitude like the people you lost. Appreciate their uniqueness and get the best out of them in the season you find yourself in. Your guess for the fourth point is as good as mine.

Text: Joshua 7-8

MESSAGE

Whoever God calls He gives Him his promise. Nothing gives us much assurance than the hope His promises release to us. The next thing is that conquerors see failures as a learning process.

Joshua had the promise from God of victory in every battle. God, he knew, was not a man that He should lie, nor the son of man that He should repent. As long as He has made the promise, it shall come to pass (Numbers 23:19). He started winning his battles. But on one occasion, he was soundly defeated by the people of Ai (Joshua 7: 4-5 NLT).  He did not grumble nor quit his assignment but waited upon the Lord with the elders of Israel. God revealed Achan’s sin and he dealt with it. Then they defeated the people of Ai the next time.

Every time you fail in your quest to do something worthwhile, sit back and evaluate the failure. There is a lesson for you to pick up. Failures should not make you quit; they should encourage you to do something better. Always remember that those who quit are never celebrated.

Text: Joshua 1: 9

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

MESSAGE

Last week we learnt that a conqueror exists to solve a problem. He is not limited by problems but defines himself by providing solutions to them. The conqueror also develops confidence from promises he has accepted.

The mindset of anyone set out to achieve anything great is backstaged with some assurances he has given to himself. These assurances may be formed from the promises he may have received from other sources or that which he has given to other people. It is worth noting that that confidence is not formed when you hear the promises; it is developed when you accept the promises as true and will certainly come true.

The end product of confidence is that you get the strength and courage to tackle the problem. Taking hold of the promises enshrined in this new covenant, let us walk in the strength the Lord provides and be problem solvers instead of problem complainers. So what do you think the second point is?

Text: Joshua 1:2-3

“Moses my servant is dead. Now then, you and all these people, get ready to cross the Jordan River into the land I am about to give to them—to the Israelites. I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised Moses.

MESSAGE

Problems exist because there is always a man to provide solutions. They will keep being in existence until there is a man to provide a solution. The first mindset of the conqueror we would learn is that he exists to solve a problem and not to complain about them.

Joshua was called in a moment of transition to lead a group of people who were inconsistent in their commitment to God. As an associate of Moses, He had seen the struggle that Moses had to go through to lead the people of Israel. Moses, by God’s direction, chose Joshua to succeed him as leader of His people. At the time that Joshua was chosen, He had a mental picture of what it would be like to settle in the promised land, irrespective of the challenge he knew they would face (remember the report of the spies).

But when God commission Joshua, He asked him to be strong and be of good courage. For wherever the sole of His feet would tread upon, He will give it unto Him. Its normal to complain about situations; the Israelites were experts at this. But the conqueror must define himself by seeking for solutions. Every innovation has been because someone identified a problem and wanted to find solutions to them.

Text: Hebrews 11:1-2 (MSG)

It’s our handle on what we can’t see.

MESSAGE

This series starts off with Joshua and we discuss David. These were great warriors we want to learn some few lessons about how mentality sets you up for the victory.

To be a conqueror, you need to stand out. To stand out, you should not just fit. You need to pass through the crowd. Our focus should be to pass through the crowd and not just fitting into it. I just want to emphasize on this: it is not enough praying about the situation, you have to make efforts to reclaim what belongs to us. God only forbids us from taking what is not ours. That is covetousness. What belongs to you is yours for the taking.

Your time is now to make a case. You have all you need at your disposal. It is your set time for manifestation. Have that new mindset repositions for this new level.

Text: Hebrews 11:2

It’s our handle on what we can’t see.

MESSAGE

It may be your set time for manifestation. I’m sorry, you may remain where you are if you don’t change your mindset. God sets a table before us in the presence of our enemies, but He does not spoon-feed us at the table.

The mind has and will always be the battlefield. God sets us up for the victory and watches us collaborate with Him to get it manifested. As I sat on the lawn to write today’s booster, I took a view of the things that I had surrounding me. Let me not even talk about the things that God created Himself. As I looked at the towers, cars, aeroplanes and the likes, I began to question myself on what I have used my mind for. Come to think of it; someone had the idea of making a car and it came into existence, someone thought of making an aeroplane and it came into existence. Just look at the compartments and the entirety of just these two examples, and you will realise that the mind is such a powerful tool. Everything we have around us is a product of the mind. Your imaginations and your thoughts set you up for new innovations.

I just don’t want to cause an impact in this world. I want to fully utilise every single resource that God has given unto me. And the mind is one of it. I believe in this; no one is dumb. Check your environment and your purpose and you would be okay. Beloved, invest in yourself by renewing your mind. Don’t only read books; allow the mind to meditate on new ideas.

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

Romans 8:37

MESSAGE

Nothing matters much to me than a repositioned mind to be victorious. Conquering is much more of what you think of your situation than what you have to fight the situation. Thus, it is much more of perceiving than realisation.

Paul, in His letter to the church in Rome, established the point that nothing could separate us from the love of God. Establishing the fact that we may have troubles or calamities, or persecutions, or hunger, or destitution, or be in danger, or threatened with death, we are more than conquerors through Christ. The resources you have get no victory won; ask Gideon and he will confirm that. Africa is blessed with a lot of resources, but we are left at the beck and call of the whites. Actually, we can do greater things than what they are doing, from my observation. But the problem we have is that our minds are positioned to think it is impossible than it is possible. What a pity!

Until we learn to invest in our minds and believe we can do it, Africa will still be impoverished. Let us stop the “God will do it” saga and let’s start using our heads. We are becoming comfortable with reproducing what other people have done. Challenge your mind to do the extraordinary. The stages of discovery are: “I thought it. I bought it. I sought it. I got it. I taught it”. It starts with the mindset (the thoughts).

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

Romans 8:37

MESSAGE

The story gets interesting as the months go by. Ideally, there are no other limitations apart from that which you have set for yourself.

The mentality, as defined by the Cambridge dictionary, is a person’s particular way of thinking about things. The mentality of a conqueror is more important than the army he has with him. Nothing wins a battle than a repositioned mind to win against all the odds. Christ has made us more than conquerors out of His love for us. But some of us are still wallowing in the aura of defeat because of the perception we have of ourselves. The battle is yours to fight, the victory is God’s to give and the glory is God’s to receive. God has already programmed you for the victory; so, take that limit off from God. He has not delimited your possibilities; He has only constrained the available options you have for your purpose.

Conquerors are not identified on the battlefield. The battlefield is only a reflection of what the mindset up to achieve. See a conqueror and you can know what He planned to achieve. Who you were made to be, determines your destiny. But what dominates your thoughts determines how far you can go.

TIME WITH WOMEN

By: Elsie Ofori Mensah

Theme: Living our full Potentials

“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”

Dear friends, after the long absence… we welcome ourselves to the lady’s corner. Forgive us for the long break. Let’s talk about Potentials…

Potential could mean latent qualities or abilities that may be developed and lead to future success or usefulness.

To acknowledge that God created all things means we acknowledge He created our potentials too. If he did, then it must be for a reason. Hence to correctly identify these abilities is one thing and to use them for their intended purposes is another. To get both angles right, we need that one person that has all this figured out; GOD.

Think about this and see if you have a different view. Kindly send us ur view on this subject… We hope to make the corner as interactive as we can.

God bless you and remain a blessing. Enjoy your week to the fullest. With lots of love ❤😘😍
