The Pillar of religion

The world and its systems are being controlled by the predominant religious systems. Although it has been relegated to its own domain, its influence on the decisions and lives of people can never be underestimated. Through the enthusiasm for the teachings from many religious sects, lots of community developments as well as catastrophes have occured. Lucius Annaeus Seneca, who was a Roman Stoic philosopher and statesman, once said and I quote, “Religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false and by rulers as useful”1.

In the ministry of Christ, He always has a confrontation with the religious leaders. His quest to save that which was lost, He had to confront the teachings and the lifestyle of the Pharisees and Sadducees. To Him, they were a critical part of the socio-cultural development of nation, and as such their life should reflect the laws that the Lord has commanded them.

In recent days, secularism has been the order of the day. In this generation, various efforts are being made to project man as the god of himself. Through the advancement of science and technology, many have been led away from the true God unto the things of this world, an agenda that is fuelled by the Kingdom of darkness. But Paul explain that when Christ ascended into heaven, He had the plan of regaining the entire systems of the world and make it His. He then decided to give gifts to men. These gifts are men whose sole aim is to equip the saints for the works of service. This is what Paul says:

This is why it says: “When he ascended on high, he led captives in his train and gave gifts to men.”… It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers,…

Ephesians 4:8,11 (NIV)

Knowing very much the influence of the Church on the society, Jesus gave “religious” leaders as gifts for men. Jesus was not interested in the “quantity” of these men, but the “quality” of them. Jesus was not just interested in the amount of people He was sending out, but by how much prepared they would be when they have to be sent out.

Jesus is not interested in the quantity of people He sends out, but their quality o represent Him and His purposes.

Kwaku P. Adjei

Christ is still in the business of raising various men and women who will take up the religious sector for the Lord Jesus Christ. Not gaining any glory for themselves, their sole aim will be to equip the saints for the various assignments that God has given them and together win the world over to Him. Just as Martin Luther , George Whitefield, etc. were raised in their generation, so God is raising men to possess this pillar of the kingdom. Are you available for God to use?

Thank you Father for your word that I have heard today. I thank you for the peace that you keep filling my heart with. I pray that may you break and mould me until I become a worthy vessel for your use. I ask this and many other blessings in the name of Christ our Lord.

The Pillar of Arts and Entertainment

The increase of media outlets and advancements in technology has advanced the scope and impact of the art and entertainment industry. Movies and music of various genres are every now and then released, and the actors and the other important contributors in the industry have become centres of attraction, impacting and influencing their viewers in enormous ways. Various media outlets that air these movies and music are part of the richest companies in the world, having tremendous views and likes.

I must add sports to the arts and entertainment. Ranging from soccer, football, tennis, handball, volleyball, amongst many others, young men and women spend time either engaging in the sports as players or as spectators. The players and teams who have excelled in their gifts receive such great audience, evident through their social media handle followers. For example, Cristiano Ronaldo, the Juventus and Portugal forward has over 125 million likes on his official facebook page, 261 million followers on Instagram and 91 million followers on Twitter1. Serena Williams, a tennis player has over 12 million followers on Instagram2 and over 10 million followers on Twitter3. Imagine the impact a message carried by these people will carry to these people. As a result, corporate and private companies like to associate themselves with them and have them as their brand ambassadors.

That begs the question of “Is God interested in the arts and entertainment Industry?“. Let me answer that question by stating that whatever we see now, is a manifestation of what God had created. God created man in His image with the inherent abilities to carry forth everything He gave unto man. However, some of them have been corrupted by the devil to spread forth his evil agenda and cause many to dwindle from the purpose of God for them. He created the devil as an archangel with music capabilities. The Bible says that:

… The workmanship of your timbrels and pipes

Was prepared for you on the day you were created.

Ezekiel 28:13 (NKJV)

As such, God was interested in arts and entertainment before creation of man. Having created man in His image and after His likeness, man has that deeper like for arts and entertainment. Man was created with the potential to give and enjoy entertainment. Throughout scripture, we see the varied forms of praise and dance (with varied capabilities to play instruments) that God’s people gave unto Him. Look at what David says in Psalms 150:

Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre, praise him with timbrel and dancing, praise him with the strings and pipe, praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with resounding cymbals.

Psalm 150:3-5 (NKJV)

With this great potential to get the attention of man, the devil has seized that opportunity to use many men and women in this arena to promote His agenda. Just as with pride He was cast away from the presence of God, so in these days He blinds the eyes of men and women to acknowledge the source of their abilities. In doing so, he has diverted the glory that is due God unto Himself. Through songs and movies, the agenda of the enemy has been projected and is sending many people to hell.

I must admit that there are several Christian movies and music out there. striving to compete with the growing industry that propagates the agenda of the devil, they have broken through with little resources and producers to leave a mark for others to follow. Beckoning on a new generation who understands the call of God to possess this arena, they have labored through their challenges to create awareness of God’s agena and have also carried forth the message of God and the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ far.

However, God is still in the business of raising men and women built up with the truth to capture this pillar. Having been built up with the truth, they shall use their abilities to promote the message of the Kingdom of God, and through their godly living inspire a lot more others to live for Christ. They will not be moved by the number of followers, but will continually acknowledge that it is Grace that has made them who they are. God does not hate arts and entertainment, so we should avail ourselves for God to use in that field if we have been called there.

Thank you Father for your word I have read today. I appreciate your love for me and the gifts and talents you have given unto me. I pray that you will grant me the grace to excel at the assignment you have given unto me. These and many other blessings I ask in the name of Christ. AMEN!!!

The Pillar of Business

No organisation runs on an empty corfex. The world as we see it is run by some selected few with enormous amount of riches. Owning various companies, they have become forces that dictate the state of affairs in most nations. Throughout history, we can name a few interventions by government and its state authorities to limit the power of the businesses in dictating the state of affairs of the nation. An example is the intervention of the U.S. government in restricting the monopoly of the Microsoft Company’s operating system1.

Throughout scripture, the importance of businessmen supporting the work of God has been very clearly defined. When the Israelites were leaving Egypt after their 440 years of slavery, God gave them favor in the sight of the Egyptians who gave them their silver and gold (Exodus 12:36). Interestingly enough, the people used this same expensive ornaments to build for themselves a golden calf to worship. Fast tracking, they also used the same gold and expensive ornaments in building God’s tabernacle (Exodus 35:1 – 36:7). The same wealth God gave unto the people of Israel was used for building a calf and for building God’s tabernacle.

Solomon’s temple had two pillars at its entrance. The names of the pillars were Boaz and Jachin. Boaz, as we know from the book of Ruth, was a kinsman redeemer. To be qualified as a kinsman redeemer, you needed to be wealthy enough to clear all the debt of the one to be redeemed and be willing to restore the inheritance to its former owner2. This means that the establishment of the Kingdom of God is men and women blessed with wealth to support the agenda of God.

There are so many projects ongoing in this world that is supported with finances. LGBT and many projects have full financial backing, with huge investments in scholarships, sports, amongst many others. For the KIngdom of God to advance in its influence, God is raising men and women who will possess the pillar of business and sponsor His cause on Earth. God is still in the business of building His tabernacle amongst us by revealing His glory in every corner of this world. He is empowering us to be wealthy because He will ask us to give the gold and silver to build the tabernacle and we should be willing to release it. Is it not interesting that it took a wealthy man called Joseph to request for Jesus’ body to be buried in a new tomb (Matthew 27:57). For the wealth is not yours, irrespective of what you think you may have done to earn it. He said:

You may say to yourself, “My power and the strength of my hands have produced this wealth for me.” But remember the LORD your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your forefathers, as it is today.

Deuteronomy Chapter 8 verse 17 to 18

God is beckoning on us to open our hearts and minds to His eternal purposes. Enough of shunning away from the call of God upon our lives. God is granting so many of us business ideas. He is granting you the ability to produce the wealth and as such impact the world. Be careful when the wealth comes, for the same wealth can make you build a golden calf to worship or build God’s tabernacle.

Thank you Father for your word we have heard today. Thank you for your Grace that is available unto us today to make wealth. We pray that you will continually shape us as you empower us to possess the pillar of business, all for the sake of your Glory. This and many other blessings we ask in the name of Christ our Lord. AMEN!!!

The Pillar of Media

Everyone with a message needs a channel to voice it out. Irrespective of the obstacles they may be facing, they deem it a responsibility to let their message reach its targeted audience. In this era of technology, the impact of social media on the youth can never be overemphasized. In a survey of teens, about 91% of them have access to smartphones. Out of these, more than 50% of them are on a social media platform (Link to survey). Moreover, the media industry has seen a lot of monetization, with considerable owners of media outlets amongst the richest in the world (eg. Mark Zuckerberg). A lot of people spend time on social media than they spend on their personal stuff.

When the media started its development face, they church took the back stage and condemned its development. A creation by man through the mind God has given him, the church did not seize the opportunity to capture it for Christ, but have waited for the world to control what comes on the social media. In recent times, posting messages on Christ has been branded inappropriate. We should expect nothing less until we rise up from our sleep and shambles and act.

Recent developments have been made by Christians to engage in the media industry with television and radio stations. Coming up with various activities to engage the believers and unbelievers alike, the competition from the other TV stations overshadows them from coming out. However, I begin to question the “excellence” in the activities of the stations. What would make me watch a Christian network when their services are not up to standard. Some of us would watch irrespective of the quality, but we need to understand that a standard has been set by the world, and excellence demands that we define the new standard through quality services with the agenda of possessing the media.

God places priority on his channel of communication. His media representation is always of importance to His Kingdom. In the Old Testament, God only spoke through Prophets, who were men and women trained and empowered by God to speak forth His message to the people. In these last days where a lot of channels are coming up, He has chosen one media outlet. Who is it?

In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe.

Hebrews chapter 1 verses 1 to 2.

God’s official minister for communication or press Secretary is CHRIST. However, the information needs to go through various media outlets. You are the outlet that Christ sends his message through. That is why He said:

We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.

2 Corinthians chapter 5 verse 20 (NIV)

We need to possess the gates of the media. God is still in the business of letting the knowledge of His will be known to the ends of the world. That is why He is calling you to possess the gates of the media. For those of us with the inner conviction to work in the media industry, respond to it as your office of calling. That is God’s work of service He has equipped you for. In our little ways, let’s use our social media handles to spread the love of Christ and let Christ be seen through us.

Thank you Father for the word you have given unto us today. We appreciate you for your Grace that is over our lives. We pray that you will enlighten the eyes of our understanding to know the hope of our calling. We pray for the grace to do your bidding, now and forever more. This and many other blessings we ask in the name of Jesus. AMEN.

The Pillar of Governance

Let’s take the pillars of the kingdom (as listed here) one after the other. We begin with the pillar of governance and politics. God’s interest in the politics and governance of any nation can never be underestimated. All through scripture, the imprint of politics and its effect on the people in the nation has been made clear. An entire nation may be branded as evil because the King that led them did evil in the sight of God, and did good if the king did right in the sight of God. Nations have been sent into captivity and its cities laid in ruins because of their kings, although there were righteous people in the nation. This reveals the extent of God’s emphasis on the “kind and character” of the people in governance.

The corridors of politics is where decisions are taken to affect the lives of others. It is the platform where ordinary citizens of the nation’s destiny are impacted by a line of decree. In essence, influencing the decisions through men with the truth, God is able to enforce His will on the Earth. When a whole nation were about to be wiped out because an influential man Haman has forced the King to, it took Esther in the helm of affairs to revert that decision by the grace of God. Notwithstanding Esther’s initial hesitation to take that responsibility to use her influence to revert the decree of the king, her uncle sent her this message:

For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”

Esther Chapter 4 verse 14 (NIV)

Many Christians have shunned entering into governance for so many reasons. For the selected few who have made it unto the corridors of leadership, have become corrupted by the existing systems of operation. Nevertheless, God is still seeking and raising a group of men and women who are built up with the truth to occupy the seat of governance. Just as Daniel, Shedrach, Meshach and Abednego were enrolled in the governance of the land of Babylon to reveal the glory of God and enforce His will, so is God raising men and women, devoted to see His glory revealed in every dark and corrupt arena, to possess the kingdom of governance.

Do you sit idle and allow the ungodly men and women to dictate what happens to us? Do we allow the righteous to perish and the purposes of God to wait unattended to because of … Wait! Do we have an excuse to give to God why we can’t humble ourselves for Him to use? Is there any reason the price for your salvation to go wasted, because you are enjoying your space and your position as a “queen”? Just as Mordecai sent Esther a message, so I end today’s blog with this message: God has placed you/is raising you through the process He is taking you through to influence the decisions of nations. Don’t forget that you are being placed there to serve His purpose and make that Kingdom the kingdom of our Lord. There is a grace released unto as many of us who desire to possess the nations for the sake of the glory of God, and you are one of them.

Thank you Father for the grace of God available unto us. Thank you God for your power at work within us. May your name forever be praised. We subject ourselves to your bidding and we pray that your Grace will be keep us under your teachings and help us to steadfastly abide under your shadows as you prepare us for your tasks ahead of us. This and many other blessings we ask through Christ our Lord. Amen!!!

Pillars of the Kingdom

Every building is founded on its solid foundations, but also on the strong pillars that hold the building together. Every establishment has organisational structure that determines how the organisation is and should be run. A very important aspect of this is the ability to capitalise on the system that operates within a defined captured unit and using it to your benefit. What this implies is that to take control of the organisation, you need to know how the system works; and to have an effect on the system, you need to be in the system.

As I write this blog post, I remembered of a quote from the American architect, R. Buckminster Fuller, I read some time ago. He said, “You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete”. Wait a minute! Is this guy really stating what God has been doing all along for us? God’s desire is to establish man to his place of dominion and control of the Earth. To do so, God has to raise men and women to infiltrate the pillars of the kingdom of this world. What are these pillars?

There are about seven know pillars of this world. These are:

  • Education
  • Science and Technology
  • Religion
  • Media
  • Arts and Entertainment
  • Politics and Governance
  • Business

Taking a look at all these pillars, you can clearly note that our world is being controlled by these seven pillars. “Whoever” calls the shots dominates the Earth. For God to actualise His will of making the Kingdom of this world His own, He is sending you and I into this world, after saving us with the blood of His Son, to capture these pillars and call the shots with His will. Just as Adam named the things in the garden and it came to be, so God is calling you and I to call the shots wherever He sends us to and let His will be done on this Earth. His goal has still not changed:

The seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, which said: “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Messiah, and he will reign for ever and ever.”

Revelations chapter 15 verse 11.

Join me as we continue discussing these pillars in details and why it is so important that we make good use of the opportunities God is opening unto us.

Thank you God for your word today. We pray that you will grant us the grace to be faithful stewards unto you. May you lead us to the path of righteousness and help us to steadfastly walk by your grace. This and many other blessings we ask through Christ our Lord. AMEN!!!

Equipped for works of service.

Source: Link

A small church in a poor community felt the call to engage the community and help the pregnant teenagers and drug addicts. Looking at their human and capital resources, they thought they could not carry such a project. In the afternoon of one summer, the pastor received a call from the police. Hurriedly rushing to the location he was informed to get to, he saw his seven year daughter speaking to a group of pregnant teenagers awaiting their turn to abort their babies. She was crying and pleading with them to stop what they were about to do. When the pastor got to the clinic, she asked her daughter what was going on, and she told her dad, “God asked me to come and beg them to stop what they were doing. I may not know how to preach, but I know how to talk, so I am equipped to save another babies life today”.

God has called each and everyone of us for an assignment that He has in mind. Strategically releasing His message at the right time, He knows assuredly well that He has prepared us for the tasks He has assigned to us. Do you know why Christ gave unto the church pastors, evangelists, prophets, apostles and teachers? Let’s find this out…

So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

Ephesians chapter 4 verses 11 to 13.

Christ has given these men unto the body of Christ to equip us for the works of service. Irrespective of who we are and our background, we are to be equipped for the good works that was predestined for us to walk in. Our life is a monument of God’s glory, and is supposed to radiate His glory. In this month, we shall focus on how we can be fruitful as students.

Thank you Father for your word. We pray that you will lead us to identify the purpose of our calling. May all that we see be Christ and what He has called us to do. in the name of Christ Jesus have we prayed. AMEN!!

Expect to be opposed in pursuing fruitfulness.

There are times people disagree with our opinions, not because of enmity, but because they have other opinions quite different from what we share, and this is normal. We all may have experiences of such situations. We should not expect to always have people agree with us on every thought, sometimes, diversity increases our chances to fruitfulness, especially one that does not come with any negative intention.  Our focus in today’s episode is however not about this kind of diversity. Think of the next scenario too. Have you experienced or heard of a situation where others will go to any length to ensure all that you consider fruitful will comes to naught?

Well, if you cannot think of anything on a personal level, we can remind ourselves that the enemy, Satan, wishes above all things that you and I will never be fruitful. Why? It is because that is the direct opposite of what God wants for us and the enemy likes to oppose God, period! Maybe this example seem too abstract, lets search into scripture for an example we can learn from.

Then, the other administrators and high officers begun searching for some fault in the way Daniel was handling government affairs, but they couldn’t find anything to criticize or condemn. He was faithful, always responsible, and completely trustworthy. So they concluded, “Our only chance for finding grounds for accusing Daniel will be in connection with the rules of his religion”.

Daniel Chapter 6 verses 4 to 5

If Daniel was such a man of excellence why would anyone want to purposefully find fault with him? Whatever our answers are, I think the enemy used these people to get back at God in a manner that will discourage Daniel from being fruitful. But thanks be to God, that He has given us the victory in Christ Jesus and like Second Corinthians chapter 2 verse 11 says, “Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his schemes”. Hallelujah!!!

Lord, we come to you in the name of Jesus and thank you for all the provision you have given us by your Spirit. We ask that you help us discern and be aware of all plans of the enemy that seek to hinder us from being fruitful. Please help us to be obedient to your direction so we manifest the victory we have through our savior Christ Jesus, in his name we pray, Amen.

From slave to Prime Minister

We are all want to identify ourselves with prominent people in the society. A group of high school students were asked to do a research on their most influential leaders. One student chose to write on Benjamin Franklin. With very little formal education, he was able to defy all odds and become one of the founding fathers of America. His limitation was a valuable life lesson he cherished and it had an influence on his every decision, making a significant contribution to all the documents that founded the country. (Further reading).

Joseph, the son of Jacob is one of the characters in the Bible I admire a lot. Having been born to the favorite wife of his father, he was envied by his elder brothers. Spending time with his father, he grew up learning the virtues that pleased his father and earned him a coat of many colors. As a dreamer, he knew that he would be great someday, however the road to the greatness was not a smooth one.

Out of jealousy, he was sold into slavery in Egypt. By the hand of God, he got the opportunity to serve in Potiphar’s house, being put in charge of everything owned by Potiphar except for his wife. Although he was offered a free sexual satisfaction with “Mrs Potiphar”, he decided to flee from that. This got Him to prison. Do you know why he would flee from such a glorious opportunity?

But he refused. “With me in charge,” he told her, “my master does not concern himself with anything in the house; everything he owns he has entrusted to my care. No one is greater in this house than I am. My master has withheld nothing from me except you, because you are his wife. How then could I do such a wicked thing and sin against God?” And though she spoke to Joseph day after day, he refused to go to bed with her or even be with her.

Genesis chapter 39 versus 8 to 10 (NIV)

His readiness to show forth his light in a foreign land got him into prison. However, his experience in the prison led him to the corridors of Pharaoh’s palace. His desire to be fruitful and live a holy life kept him aligned to the will of God and brought into fulfilment the prophecy that God gave to his great grandfather Abraham.

Why should we be fruitful amidst our current hardships? This story teaches us that each one of us is walking on a path for good works that were predestined for us. It however takes us to fight through the challenges to be able to get there. For we all have the potential to move from being a slave to a prime minister. Why are you to be the prime minister…

…Now do not be upset or blame yourselves because you sold me here. It was really God who sent me ahead of you to save people’s lives.

Genesis chapter 45 versus 5 (GNB)

It is God’s desire to save people, our families and friends from their current circumstances. You are the answer that He has prepared for them. You are to be fruitful to fulfil that call and assignment over your life. That is why God cuts away any tree that does not bear fruits.

It is my prayer that our minds will be opened to understand what our calling is. I also pray that we will receive the power to be fruitful in every endeavors of our lives. This and many other blessesing we ask in the name of Christ our Lord AMEN!!!

The four Hebrew Men

A class was put into groups of three and each group was tasked to develop a new marketing model. All groups went about researching for a old models and were discussing ways of making it better. To them, that is a safe way of getting a grade that would make them pass to serve the manufacturing company that is organising the graduate intenship for them. In one group were these four boys who decided to try something new. Looking at the background and upbringing, they decided to build a model that would benefit people of these class. Although it was a risk they were going to take, it was worth giving it a try. Lo and behold, their model was adopted by the company and used for the marketing of their products. When they were asked by the board to explain the reason behind their model, they stated that the model is a reflection of their values instilled in them from their childhood.

The same can be said of the three Hebrew boys in Babylon. Although they were under the pressure to succumb to the pressures of the “luxurious” life in Babylon, they still stuck to the beliefs and teaching they know from Jerusalem. To them, risking the pleasures of Babylon for their God was worth a try. Although eating the meat offered to idols seemed pleasureable, they chose to eat vegetables; although bowing to the golden statue seemed safer, they chose to be put in the burning furnace; although closing the doors and hiding to pray would have been a wise option considering the signed decree of the King, Daniel chose to pray and be put in the lion’s den (Daniel 6).

After each of these episodes, one thing was made evident; and that was the glory of God. Every one knew them and branded them as children of the Most High, acknowledging their creator when dealing with them. The reason for their sacrifice of pleasure and safety to bear fruits in Babylon (serve in the corridors of leadership and affect decision making) was to make God known in Babylon. Did they achieve that? Listen to what the great king Nebuchadnezzar said:

At the end of that time, I, Nebuchadnezzar, raised my eyes toward heaven, and my sanity was restored. Then I praised the Most High; I honored and glorified him who lives forever. His dominion is an eternal dominion; his kingdom endures from generation to generation. All the peoples of the earth are regarded as nothing. He does as he pleases with the powers of heaven and the peoples of the earth. No one can hold back his hand or say to him: “What have you done?”

Daniel 4: 34-35 (NIV)

Maybe that may not be an enough proof for you. Look at what King Darius also said when Daniel was not devoured by the lions:

Then King Darius wrote to all the nations and peoples of every language in all the earth: “May you prosper greatly! “I issue a decree that in every part of my kingdom people must fear and reverence the God of Daniel. “For he is the living God and he endures forever; his kingdom will not be destroyed, his dominion will never end. He rescues and he saves; he performs signs and wonders in the heavens and on the earth. He has rescued Daniel from the power of the lions.”

Daniel 6: 25-27 (NIV)

God mandated us to be fruitful because He wants His glory to be seen by all. That is His goal and that is the reason why to are to be fruitful.

What you do is as important as what you do not do.

Kwaku P. Adjei

It is my prayer that God will grant us the grace to be faithful in bearing lasting fruits. I pray that we will walk in newness of life, being revived by the spirit of God to do the bidding of God. May we be transformed into vessels of honor ready for the Master’s use. We ask this and many other things through Christ Our Lord, Amen!!
